Introducing version 1.13.0, the latest update to our markdown note-taking tool. We a thrilled to announce that this new version comes after 3 months of intense development, bug-fixing, and refining of the app. The new version brings with it several new features, fixes, and refactoring, all aimed at enhancing the user experience and making writing even more enjoyable.
TL;DR
We have released version 1.13.0 with new features, fixes, and refactoring. The split-screen feature has been added, allowing users to work in ERA and have a rendered preview side-by-side of their markdown notes. The MacOS M1 port of ERA has also been released. Fixes include a warning for unsaved drafts, submit modals with the enter-button, error-display bug, and new-draft-abort toolbar bug have been addressed. Refactoring include editor-toolbar button positions and scrollbar color matching.
New Features
Split-screen
One of the most exciting new features of ERA version 1.13.0 is the split-screen feature. Users can now work in ERA and have a rendered preview side-by-side, making it easier to visualize what the final note will look like. Furthermore, we have added a split-screen shortcut: the CMD/CTRL+H keys toggle the split-view mode on/off, making it even more convenient to use.
User Interface Improvements
We have also made several user interface improvements to ERA in this new version. These include adding a "Return to Workspace" button, hover effects, and color adjustments of various components. We believe these changes will make it easier for users to navigate in ERA and find the functions they need quickly.
Context Menu
Another new feature of ERA version 1.13.0 is the Context-Menu. We have added this to drafts and workspaces, and it allows users to rename and delete workspaces and drafts quickly. This makes it much easier to manage your writing projects and keep everything organized.
Bug Fixes
In addition to the new features, we have also addressed several issues and made some significant improvements in ERA version 1.13.0.
New Draft Shortcut
We fixed the new-draft shortcut issue where unsaved progress would get discarded when users pressed CMD/CTRL+N while in a draft. Now, a warning appears to prevent this from happening accidentally.
Submit Modal With Enter
We also fixed the modal submit with enter problem, which previously prevented users from submitting modals using the enter button.
Update Notification
We have also fixed the update check notification box as it sometimes would pop up twice.
New Draft Abort - Frozen Tool Bar
Furthermore, we fixed the new-draft-abort tool bar bug, where the editor toolbar remained on display when users aborted the creation of a new draft.
Draft Renaming
Finally, we also fixed the rename draft issue, where it was possible to rename a draft with an empty name.
Refactoring
Finally, in terms of refactoring, we have changed the positions of the editor-toolbar buttons and scrollbar color to better match the app theme. These small changes will make the user interface more intuitive and visually appealing.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we believe that ERA version 1.13.0 is a significant step forward in making our note-taking tool even more user-friendly and enjoyable to use. We hope our users will enjoy the new features and improvements we have made, and we are excited to see what they will create using ERA.
